Trained as a glass researcher, maker and restorer, Jeroen Maes (1977) was in 2007 among the founders of the glass museum GlazenHuis in Lommel, Belgium. He curated over 35 exhibitions confronting contemporary art and design with historical glass. Next to his position as artistic director he started focusing on his personal creations since 2018. Developing a modular framework using colorful blown glass elements to turn them into light objects or art installation recognized by (color/shape/…) and with references to modernism and pop-culture.
